What should be checked?

• Inspect hull, deck and fittings for cracks, osmosis, corrosion or water ingress.
• Review engine oil, gear oil and cooling-system service history for the specific model.
• Inspect propeller, shaft, trim and steering systems for damage or play.
• Test batteries, shore power, bilge pump and navigation lights.
• Fresh-water rinsing and salt removal are especially important after marine use.
• Check the condition and dates of life jackets, fire extinguishers and other safety equipment.
